A surprise

Being able to connect with cavalier owners all over the world through my blog never fails to amaze me.  Not only has our beautiful breed continued to inspire me, i've also learned how truly wonderful cavalier owners are.

Last week the girls and I received a gift in the mail from a very good friend who clearly knows us inside and out.  At first I was surprised at how well she knew my dogs but when stopped to think about it... of course she'd know them, shes been following and contributing to our blog since close to when I started it.

Katie thank you *so* much for our surprise in the mail.  I couldn't have picked it out better myself. My girls are thoroughly enjoying every part of it.

Katie writes candidly and very passionately on her blog Lessons from and for 4 Legs.  She owns two beautiful cavaliers named Maizey and Magnus.  Katie works as a dog trainer and offers an inside look at the lessons she has learned from her dogs and their continuing journeys. She is especially well written on the ups and downs of living with a dog who suffers from high reactivity and anxiety.  Her strategies and practical advice has helped me problem solve solutions for dealing with my own anxious girl (Zoey).   If you haven't visited her blog before I promise that it is worth checking out and following.

Now for the mandatory pictures!

A box?  For US?

A PINK frisbee.  I wonder who this is for?  Zozo can't wait to try it out

A new favourite around here.  I've never seen these before in Canada.  We love puzzle toys.

Zoey rocking the Roxxter and Mylee waiting to snarf the treats that come out of it...these two have a strange relationship.

We've already used this several times for a certain someone...I did notice a positive difference in the car (our biggest challenge)

Can I please have my new frisbee?  I wish I was taller, I'd get it myself!

NO Zozo.. demanding it won't work!  Where are your manners?!

We will have to wait a few more days to try it out.  Wintery weather has returned to Southern Ontario.  Who invited the snow for April?

All About Pets Show 2012. Toronto

This past weekend the Cavalier Fanciers of Southern Ontario(CFSO) attended the All About Pets Show in Toronto Ontario. It was an incredible weekend of breed education, cavaliers, and meeting new friends. It was the first time that the CFSO has attended the event. I hope it will become a yearly tradition.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to help. It wouldn't have been possible without you.

The CFSO is famous for their annual Cavalier Picnic held in September. The Cavalier Picnic brings pet owners and breeders together for a celebration of our beautiful breed. Its one of my favourite events. For this booth it was decided that a Cavalier picnic theme would be perfect to highlight both the CFSO and our very social breed.

Later in the weekend.

I didn't end up bringing my camera to the show.. and now of course I wish that I had. The show though was extremely busy and keeping track of my camera and a doggie wouldn't have been a fun thing to do. So I will have to make do with the Iphone photos I did manage to take.

Mylee made the perfect little breed ambassador this weekend. Its really a testament to how well she is doing. I never thought we'd be able to do something like this with her.

She thoroughly enjoyed her job, and by the end of the first day Mylee figured out that laying down on her throne(table) and looking cute would attract people over to rub her tummy. Smart girl... every visitor gladly obliged!

Mylee workin' it (even with a war wound from having a dental she managed to look cute)

Carmen and Booster say hi!

Our cavaliers did an incredible job of entrancing everyone they met with their loving temperaments.

Despite being completely exhausting it was a great and very worthwhile weekend. Hopefully by reading our brochure many hopeful cavalier owners will understand the importance of purchasing their cavalier from a responsible breeder.

Happy Birthday Reese!

We wanted to write today and wish a very special Happy Birthday to Reese. (Ch. Burbrook Rebecca's Last Fling) Reese turned seven years old yesterday and was bred by Peggy Wallace, and owned by Karen Murray at Mysticmoon Cavaliers. Karen completed her Canadian Championship with Reese and later she went on to have beautiful wholecolour offspring. She is now living the spoiled retired life with Barb and Dorothy Penney.

Reese is the dam to our Molly, Becky at Bark'n About, and their beautiful sister Sammie. Molly, Becky, and Sammie all have their Mom to thank for their wonderful spunky temperament, incredible athleticism, and true zest for life.

I mostly wanted an excuse to show off some really nice pictures that I took of Reese at handling class last Monday night. A birthday makes for a wonderful excuse!

I hope that Reese celebrated by having a special cookie or a cream puff of her choosing. This princess of course knows how to help herself!

Happy Birthday Reese!
