Purina National 2012

Its that time of year again. The time where Canada's most prestigious dog show takes centre stage. The red carpets, the sound of dryers, and the smell of clean dogs fill the air, as dogs and handlers their stuff in the conformation and obedience rings.

Last year I wrote about the 2011 Purina National and how I wished I could have taken part with Molly. Here are some horrible Iphone photos of the scene from last year. Cavaliers were first thing in the morning so things were still pretty quiet.

Let the judging begin, Peggy and Kaylee(I think)

What a difference a year makes.

A year ago our Princess was looking very immature and had only just begun showing in conformation. She was lacking confidence and wasn't sure what to make of the whole show scene. I elected to sit out and watch from the sidelines.

Over the past year Molly has transformed into a confident and mature show girl. She loves to "get her show on" and wiggles with excitement when I say those magic words. I am really looking forward to taking part this year at Purina.

So we will do some last minute training on small details.

The Princess will have a leisurely bath tonight.

Despite the sad eyes she really doesn't mind being bathed!

She will have an evening at the spaw where I will dry her, clip her nails, brush her teeth, put on some satin cream, and dress her in a drying coat.

And we will pack our things and head to the International Centre for an amazing weekend.

Hope to see you there!

For those living in the Greater Toronto Area the show is open to anyone who'd like to attend. There is an entrance fee with proceeds being donated to the Canadian Kennel Club Foundation. Besides beautiful dogs everywhere, there is a ton of shopping, breed booths, and demonstrations going on.

If you do come check out the festivities this weekend, make sure you drop by the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed booth to say hi. I will be at the booth most of the weekend. You'll even be able to see our new CFSO 3 panel brochure in person.

For those interested in seeing the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed judging, have a look at the judging schedule. The times are different on each day. Molly and I are entered Friday and Sunday, however the most entries are for Saturday.
