A Bathroom Obsession

Every dog has bad habits that their owners don't like to talk about.

Some like to chew things they shouldn't. (in my house it is underwear)

Some like to eat things they shouldn't. (Christmas chocolates)

Some like to bark. (squirrel's are evil)

Others like to pee in the house. (occasionally a lazy little red dog will do this if the weather isn't to her liking)

Mine?

Especially my beautiful Zoey, who is always on her best behavior, and never causes any trouble in my house at all.... (HA)

Love nothing more than an open bathroom door.

She has become extremely proficient at taking the lids off the bathroom garbage, and she is especially good at stealing new toilet paper roles out of the package.

Mylee of course isn't innocent, despite being very good at convincing you she is. I'm sure it is a joint effort to notice the opportunity to have a TP party as soon as the house is empty and a bathroom door is left open.

Over the past few years there have been several. The most recent one was when a good friend visited me, and used the bathroom before going out to dinner. She doesn't live with dogs and didn't know that there were doggy rules to follow.

Rule #1 - Bathroom doors must be closed at all times!

This was my first clue that my dogs loved toilet paper. Our first tp mess and boy did they go all out.

She looks so cute but *so* guilty

Yep, they went all out and had a blast while no one was home

This is the latest fun from my friend leaving that door open.

We weren't gone for that long, the party was just getting underway

Caught in the act - Thanks for the evening of fun!

She is over four now, and will forever be in love with tping the house. No opportunity is wasted.

So if you are ever visiting, now you will know... bathroom doors closed please!

  1. Well you got me laughing this morning!:)) I guess since they are both girls this can't be blamed on the snips and snails and puppy dog tails syndrome like I have been using to blame Magnus.LOL Funny we both posted the 'naughty' things the pups do today.LOL

Magnus has a coconspirator with the TP situation since the Monster Cat Nellie loves nothing more than to unroll the entire roll of TP and that makes it even better for Magnus to grab a mouthful and RUN through the house with his TP kits trailing behind.ROFL!! You know it's love when you start finding these lovely habits amusing instead of irritating. BTW a good bring it works great for those little items they are not supposed to have, just watch out what gets spit out in your hand.;))

  2. LOL brings back memories seeing your living room like that!! Yes Tping the house is a favourite activity here too. Love when the dogs get the end of it and run... without it breaking for a while!

  3. I am so glad that Holly isn't the only one with the love of grabbing all of the TP and chewing it up after stringing it through half of the house!! Love the pictures! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly

  4. LMAO!!!
Replace your two girls with my two boys and all this could be (is) happening at my house.
Everything from the underwear, to the squirrels, to the peeing in the house by a little red dog that doesn`t like the cold, to TPing the house by a little tri boy as the culprit with every chance he gets....now the TP is hidden so he can`t find it. :)
    Very funny post, MB!!!

  5. That is so funny!!! Our last Cavalier did that, but not as bad as your two girls. Come over to my blog and I'll repost our TP party that we woke up to early one morning about 4 years ago with Brinkley. Happy to say Marley and Jasper haven't discovered TP yet and their 2 years old so hopefully that means they won't. Thanks for the laugh and wishing you a very good vacuum cleaner.

  6. LOL Jasmine used to love to rip up toilet paper when she was little! I figured that it's harmless enough and better than ripping something else, so I just let her. She grew out of it.

  7. That is too funny! Kendall could care less about the TP in our house. I'd better keep her from reading the blog and getting any ideas.

  10. Amazing... How can you be angry, though, when they are obviously having such a great time?? The tri in that second photo is 100% in happy dog mode!
